Hi, I’m Talym, a software engineer from Melbourne, Australia. I have a deep
love for web development, but I enjoy all aspects of coding as problem
solving is what really fulfils me. I enjoy seeing my work make an impact,
whether that's for users or fellow developers, and take pride in writing
clean, maintainable, well-documented code. I always produce my best work
with others in collaborative environments so I'm eager to learn from other
experienced professionals and contribute to innovative projects.
My journey started by learning the fundamentals in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML,
and have rapidly expanded from there. In terms of Front-end I’ve put a
strong focus into learning design, mostly using Figma, I’ve learnt TypeScript, used frameworks like React, and most recently SvelteKit. My back-end experience is a mix of Flask, and NodeJS with Express, both connected to various PostgreSQL databases. I’ve also recently been exploring the world of dev-ops, gaining comfort
and familiarity with Digital Ocean VPS
hosting, Docker, and Kubernetes in particular.
When I’m not developing, I’m playing pick-up soccer matches around the city,
working on my drawings, listening to music, and watching movies with friends.

I develop and maintain digital miniapps for the Internet Banking platform at NAB which supports both Australian businesses and customers to handle their everyday banking needs. I am responsible for building and enhancing UIs, implementing routing logic, and crafting queries to interact with downstream services. My work ensures that data is handled efficiently, safely, and reliably to service tools both internal and external to NAB. In addition to development I create comprehensive unit and e2e tests, write clear and concise documentation, and monitor product logs to ensure robust application performance.

I worked on the pilot study of a cutting-edge bioinformatics research project. As the sole analyst in a team of research scientists, I developed and implemented custom scripts and data pipelines to process and analyse terabytes of genetic data, transforming it into meaningful visualisations, graphs, and tables. My work allowed us to to evaluate the viability of the research, refine the approach, and remove costly inefficiencies based on the insights we gained.
